Junior Infants sang their hearts out at their special Assemby which they organised to celebrate Love Around the World on Fri., 12 Feb. They sang ‘Jesus Loves the Little Children’, ‘Love is Something’ and ‘God’s Love is the Best Love’ (led by Gillian). The whole school joined in with them and rose the roof off the gym hall with Principal Packham playing on the piano. Amazing! Moya told the story of ‘Jesus and the Children’ so clearly to us all. Ben reminded us of ‘The Good Samaritan’.Wonderful! All the children had made ChiLanterns and Dragons which they displayed. Beautiful!
Junior Infants gave every child in K.P.S. a little red pouch with a coin in it as a sign of friendship and love, just as many Chinese parents do each New Year to wish their children ‘good luck’.
Mrs Morton was very proud of all the wonderful children.

On Friday 29th January, third class led an assembly on the theme of helping others. This came at the end of a week when almost €1000 was raised for the people of Haiti. The money raised had been an initiative by third and fifth class pupils and included cake sales, a quiz, “ice the bun” and selling of bracelets.
Third class used the Parable of the Good Samaritan as the Bible theme for the assembly which included prayers, hymns and a K.P.S. interpretation of the Biblical theme. We were particularly pleased to welcome Canon McEndoo to our assembly who spoke to the children and closed in prayer. The pupils had prepared media reports on the earthquake in Haiti as aids to our thoughts.
Well done third class and thanks to everyone for supporting the fund raising.
