Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s Bingo Night – we had a great turn out. Little did we know we would have so much fun – people didn’t want to go home! A huge thanks to the PTA for organising this night and to our wonderful host Miriam O’ Callaghan. Not only did the parents and teachers have a ball but the next day the pupils had some fun playing bingo in the hall too!

Christine Campbell came to us via Discover Primary Science which is the project Junior Infants, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th Classes were involved in during the year – which incidentally won us another award!  Christine gave two shows and all the school attended them.  Certificates from Discover Science were presented to all the children in the school by Caroline Morahan of Discover Primary Science!

3rd and 4th Class Trip to Causey Experience

On Tuesday 27 of May 3rd and 4th Class went on a school tour to the Causey Experience. The drive took an hour and a half. First we had lunch and a chat. Our tour guides were Matt and Emer. After we fed the horses, One got a bad cut. Then Emer told us how to play the bodhran. At the last song who ever dropped their stick had to dance. After that we went to a room where you could blow bubbles and paint the wall. Then we went on a treasure hunt. Eleanor won. After that we went for a bit of lunch. Then we went to the wood to see if there was any wildlife. Finally we went to the bog, it was really fun. Daniel nearly got stuck HA HA!

4th Class Trip to Dubray Books

On Tuesday the 13th of May, 4th Class went to Dubray Books to meet the author Brendan O’Brian. He wrote THE STORY OF IRELAND and won the Irish Book Award. It contains stories from the Ice Age to the 21st Century. Some of the stories include Saints of Ireland, The Black Death, Irish Independence, Rock and Roll and lots of other stories. He read out some parts of his story and got volunteers to read out some parts as well. We really enjoyed our trip.

On Tuesday the 8th of April, 3rd class and 4th class went to Dublin Castle, we saw the moat that used to be big and tall. The Vikings found 70 heads in the moat. We also saw the wrecked Round Tower that had gun powder in it, which wrecked it. Before Dublin Castle we went to Chester Beatty Library. We saw Chinese Gallery and snuff bottles. We went outside to see the garden and then back to school again. We all had a wonderful day. Joshua Behan
